Designed To Move, Built To Perform!

What Is Functional Training?

Functional training focuses on movements that mimic real-life activities, improving your ability to perform daily tasks with ease and efficiency. It emphasizes mobility, balance, stability, and strength, helping your body move the way it’s designed to. Whether it’s lifting a child, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs, functional training builds a foundation of strength and resilience that supports you in everyday life.

What movements am I talking about?!

  • Functional training involves multiple movement patterns such as:

  • Horizontal Push (e.g. push-up)

  • Vertical Push (e.g. overhead press)

  • Horizontal Pull (e.g. chest supported row)

  • Vertical Pull (e.g. pull-up)

  • Hinge (e.g. deadlift)

  • Squat (e.g. drop squat)

  • Static Lunge (e.g. split squat)

  • Dynamic Lunge (e.g. reverse lunge)

  • Core flexion (e.g. hanging leg raises)

  • Carry (e.g. Farmers carry)

What Is Athletic Training?

Athletic training is all about enhancing performance, agility, speed, power, and coordination. It’s designed to push your limits, helping you develop explosive strength, dynamic movement, and endurance. Whether you’re training for a sport or just want to move like an athlete, this approach builds a high level of physical capability and confidence.

Whilst Athletic training is somewhat similar to functional training, it allows us to add in those certain elements to the existing movement patterns that occur in functional training and turn you into a higher performing human. Think of athletes such as football players, why are they able to perform to such freakish levels and at such speed and power? It is because they train functionally & athletically, operating in all planes of motion, allowing them to be ultra dynamic.

So, what are we looking at with Athletic training?

  • Agility

  • Speed

  • Power

  • Endurance

  • Strength & Mobility that enable efficient powerful movement

  • Plyometrics

  • Compound Lifts

  • Conditioning- HIIT

Why Combine Them?

With the power of functional and athletic training combined together, the results are transformative. Functional training ensures your movements are safe, efficient, and grounded, while athletic training adds the power, speed, and dynamism to take your abilities to the next level. Together, they create a comprehensive approach to fitness that not only helps you feel great in everyday life but also perform at your peak, whether you’re chasing a personal goal or just chasing your kids around the park.

This combination isn’t just about building strength—it’s about creating a body that’s adaptable, resilient, and capable of handling whatever life throws your way. It’s fitness with purpose, designed to help you thrive.

Combining functional and athletic training opens up a world of possibilities that go beyond traditional fitness approaches. The synergy between these methods not only builds strength and performance but also makes training adaptable, engaging, and fun.
