My Why
I’d like to share a bit of my story with you.
There was a time when I felt completely lost—unsure of who I was, what I was doing, or where I was heading. I was searching for something to grab hold of—something to give me purpose and help me feel grounded again. Life felt overwhelming, and I didn’t know how to move forward.
What changed everything for me wasn’t just fitness; it was the process of building mental resilience and rediscovering joy in movement. Training gave me something to focus on, something to build. Along the way, I started to feel stronger—not just physically, but mentally. I began to find clarity and confidence.
But here’s the truth: I’m still on this journey. I’m still figuring out life, navigating challenges, and learning as I go. And that’s okay—because growth is a lifelong process. What I’ve learned so far, though, is that focusing on your health—your first foundation—can create incredible momentum.
The You Project was born out of a deep desire to help others who might feel the same way I once did (and sometimes still do). It’s not about perfection or having all the answers—it’s about showing up for yourself, building confidence, and taking small, consistent steps toward a life you love.
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’m here to guide you.
Welcome to The You Project!
Hi! I’m Ben, a passionate coach dedicated to helping people improve their lives through functional and athletic movement. Whether you're unsure where to start, struggling with mental health challenges, or simply looking for support and connection, I’m here to guide you.
The You Project focuses on building your first foundation: your health. Through personalized training, sustainable habits, and a welcoming space, my mission is to help you thrive—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
This isn’t just about fitness—it’s about discovering your strength, building confidence, and creating a life you love. Ready to take the first step? Let’s build something amazing together.
What Is The First Foundation?
Let me ask you this: if you had only one car to use for the rest of your life—your one and only car—how would you treat it? Would you wash it? Service it regularly? Fill it with the right fuel to keep it running smoothly? Of course, you would.
Now, think of yourself as that car. Your body is your one and only vehicle in life. It’s the vessel that allows you to explore the world, the home that you will live in for your entire existence. There is no greater act of gratitude than taking care of yourself—prioritizing your health. Your health is your First Foundation, and if you neglect it, how can you expect to show up for others?
The First Foundation philosophy is at the heart of The You Project. This idea is one of the biggest reasons I’m so passionate about reaching out to help people. I truly believe in the transformative power of training—not just for the physical benefits, but for what it does to improve mental health and overall well-being. While there are many ways to achieve these things, I believe movement and training offer one of the most impactful pathways to change.
Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to prioritize their health. For me, one of my greatest motivators is my future family. When I have kids, I want to be the kind of parent who can play, run, and explore the world with them for as long as possible. I want to feel, move, and live at my best—not just for myself, but for them. Life is a gift, and you only get to live it once, so why not ensure you can move through it freely, fully, and with joy?
This idea of taking care of “future you” is central to the First Foundation. The choices you make today are an investment in the person you’ll be tomorrow. When you prioritize your health now, your future self will thank you for it.
So, let me ask you:
What does your First Foundation look like? How will you take care of yourself today to create the life you want tomorrow?
